Gloria Maria Fajardo was born on September 1st 1957 in Havana, Cuba. When she was almost 2 years old, she and her family came to the US. In 1975 she met Emilio Estefan who had a band called the Miami Latin Boys. When Emilio heard Gloria sing, he decided that the band needed a girl. And the band was renamed in Miami Sound Machine. In 1978 Gloria & Emilio (born March 4th 1953) got married. They have two children, Nayib (born September 2 1980) and Emily. (born December 5th 1994) Between 1977 and 1984 the Miami Sound Machine had 7 albums that were mainly in Spanish. In 1984 they got there worldwide breakthrough with Dr.Beat. After that they scored hit after hit. Gloria's life with lots of fame and millions of fans exploded on March 20 1990 when a truck smashed the band's bus. Gloria broke her back in two places. After a year recouperating and with the love, support and help from her fans, family and friends,Gloria faught her way back to the top. And that's where she still is today.
