'For a young bulldog named Noelle, the joy of being adopted by her very own little girl is overshadowed by the worry that she won't fit in to her wonderful new home. What can an odd-looking brown pup possibly have to offer in a world where shimmering fish, glittering fireflies, and beautiful Dalmatians play games that Noelle's short legs can barely keep up with?'

Five-time GRAMMY® Award-winning singer-songwriter Gloria Estefan's first book for children is a heartwarming story. Exuberantly illustrated by Michael Garland, it captures all the worry of an outsider trying to fit in -- and all the joy of discovering that everyone has a talent that matters, and that true beauty comes from inside.

Hi Conga Fans. . . .
I hope this letter finds you and your family in great health.
I wanted to let all of you know that due to several very exciting projects that Gloria is involved in, we have decided not to
schedule additional legs of the Live & Re-Wrapped Tour for this year. With the incredible amount of time and focus it takes to put the show on the road, it simply was not possible for 2005.

But don't despair. . Gloria will embark on a different type of tour this year . . .A book signing tour!
As most of you are aware, she is busy writing her first children's book that will be released in both English and Spanish later this year.
Along with the book release she will be hitting the road on a major promotion and book signing tour. I promise as soon as we have dates and cities confirmed, you will be the first to know!

"Writing" is certainly taking up a lot of Gloria's time. Besides writing the children's book, she is working hard on completing the screenplay with Connie Francis and you will be happy to know that she writing a new song that will be released along with the book.

We also decided that in 2005 we were going to focus a lot of energy into The Gloria Estefan Foundation. Along with the writing projects, she is putting forth a lot of time and effort into raising money for the foundation. This week, we will be performing at Donald Trump's Mar-A-Lago resort with proceeds benefiting the Tsunami Relief efforts and in April she will be performing at Fight Night, a gala that will benefit the Muhammad Ali Research Center for Parkinson's Disease.

And of course. . we have a few surprises up our sleeves that we can't divulge yet. . . but rest assured more exciting news will be coming soon.

Best,
Frank Amadeo

december 2004:

Five-time GRAMMY Award-winning singer/songwriter Gloria Estefan will pen her first book, a story for children to be published in both English and Spanish in November 2005,
it was jointly announced today by Rayo, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, and Estefan Enterprises.

The book will center on the life and adventures of an intrepid bulldog named Noelle who doesn't feel like she fits into the new and mythical land she now calls home. Inspired by Estefan's beloved pet English Bulldog Noelle, the book will mirror the true story behind how Noelle came to be such an important part of Gloria's life. Already a celebrity in her own right, Noelle has appeared with Gloria on Oprah and Don Francisco Presenta, and has been featured in both People Magazine and Cristina la Revista.
The story will focus on Noelle's experience as a loveable, yet very unconventional looking dog, who must find her way through life in her new adopted home, feeling different and confronting a bevy of clustered animal cliques whose ultimate reluctance to include Noelle in their world is soon offset by Noelle's true, albeit hidden, beauty.

The book will help children who may feel alienated and ostracized understand that no matter what shape, size, or interests they may have, fitting in is internal and being yourself the ultimate way to make anyone think you're special. Also, the book has special resonance with the immigrant communities in the United States (primarily of Hispanic heritage) who may, like Noelle, feel they culturally do not, and will not, fit in with a culture so foreign from their own.

Equally exciting, Gloria will write and record a song based on Noelle's story, and the single CD will be packaged inside the respective editions of the new book.

"I don't think too much is known about the affinity that I feel for animals. I have a very real connection with them and although I've had many pets, especially dogs, I have found a new and very unique connection with my two year old English Bulldog, Noelle," says Gloria Estefan. "She came to be a part of our family quite by accident and has brought us unforgettable experiences that I hope to share with the readers of my book based on her real- life experiences. I hope Noelle will bring the readers as much joy and surprise as she has brought into the lives of everyone who has met her."

"We are thrilled to be publishing Gloria's first book - and to be launching her career as a published author," adds Rene Alegria, Publisher of Rayo. "We have adored her as a musician and entertainer - and now with Noelle's story, the world will bear witness to this long adored dedicated wife and mother as she sets off in a new and satisfying direction, building on her legendary career in helping to educate and entertain children throughout the world."

Known far and wide as the "Queen of Latin Pop," Gloria Estefan is one of the most recognized artists in the world. Billions have heard her, millions have seen her perform and with over 70 million of her albums sold worldwide, she is the single most successful crossover performer in Latin music history. A five-time GRAMMY Award-winning singer, actress, songwriter, philanthropist and humanitarian, this superstar's career is paved in platinum. Her latest CD "Unwrapped" was released in 2003 and was the centerpiece of her final concert tour this past summer.

June 2004:

"Hi There........

First let me thank you once again for being such loyal and devoted fans!
You have given me the unique pleasure of being able to express myself musically in so many ways along the spectrum of who I am that it's difficult to find the words that would show you how I feel.
Everything seems to fall short as I write these thoughts to you.

It's been quite a long time that we've been sharing this very special communication through music.
Quite honestly, as a child when I played my guitar and sang to my family and friends or all alone in my room I never dreamed that one day I would be sharing my thoughts and feelings with so many people.
It was enough for me to be able to express myself and get out all my angst through other people's songs so I never envisioned having the opportunity to become a part of other people's lives with my own words and music.
This has been the biggest gift that I have received from my career and from all of you.....

But I know you have all heard me say on more than one occasion that I was never really a "performer type" person.
I am quite content being behind the scenes and observing people and life, although the "fame" part of this whole shebangle (is this legally a word?) has made that very difficult for me to accomplish.
I think I am the happiest when I am creating music that I know you will hear and hopefully like and when I'm in the studio helping to make that new creation transmit those very feelings that brought it into this world.
It never ceases to be a magical process for me. And I think about you every step of the way, hoping to inspire you, to give you a way to express something to someone you love or to someone who has perhaps hurt you, and above all, to give you hope.
Maybe I haven't been "out there" on the road as often as you expected or would have liked me to be.
But I know you understand, especially those of you who have children, how fulfilling it has been for me to be able to balance this unique and beautiful career with taking care of my family.
So again I thank you for your patience and your enduring love and trust.

As you already know, I'm heading back out on the road with a lot of energy and the desire to "connect" with as many of you as possible, since you are, after all, the reason I've headed out on the road in the past.
At the beginning I wanted to win you over or seduce you, in a way.
After you got to know me a bit I wanted to cement our relationship and make it stronger.
I really see our relationship as a marriage that has to be nurtured and should not be taken for granted and the best way to do that is face to face.
You don't know how many times I've wished that I could physically hug each and every one of you!
And although that's impossible, I've tried to do that very thing with my music from the stage every time I've been given the opportunity. I know you've felt it or you probably wouldn't still be out there listening.
So I want to get out there to as many places as I possibly can and give you one more hug.

There are so many things that I have been so fortunate to experience that I would never ask for more.
But as all human beings I want to evolve and grow and in the process hopefully stay interesting to you.
Music has been one of the most beautiful things in my life and will always be a very big part of who I am and what I do.
And although I will continue writing and recording and doing everything else that comes with this incredible way of life, this next tour will be my last.
I know that you're not really surprised because I've heard rumblings that some of you were feeling that this was going to be the case.
But I wanted to let you know directly from me before you heard it anywhere else.
I'll still be out there promoting when I have something new to offer you and doing everything else that has been a part of this career.
I really want to get this movie about Connie Francis filmed. I've been working with her for over two years and I'm anxious to finally get it into production.
Also, I have already started writing a "book" in my head. Now I want to be able to put it on paper and communicate with all of you on an even deeper level.
I want to write this myself, not with some other writer filtering my thoughts and putting them into words that are not really my own. This of course, will take time.

So the plan is that I will do this U.S. leg of the tour which is already organized although there are some markets that are waiting for the right timing to put tickets on sale.
Each promoter lets us know when that is, since they know these things better than we do. I would love to take this tour as many places as we possibly can like Europe, hopefully Asia, and most definitely parts of Latin America.
But as you know, we are living in very uncertain times based on so many things that affect each of us in the different places that we live.
And although I can't promise that I will be everywhere I "want" to go you have my promise that I will do my best to get to as many places as I possibly can.
After all, this is a celebration for me of all the beauty and love you have brought into my life and I want to remember it forever, make it something you'll never forget and party with as many of you as possible!"

I love you...
gloria

Gloria Estefan is to star in a Hollywood biopic of Fifties singing star Connie Francis. Francis chose Estefan to play her in the movie which will chart her troubled life.
The biggest female star of the 1950s, Francis had a string of hits including 'Lipstick On Your Collar', 'Stupid Cupid' and 'Who's Sorry Now'.
She sold more than 80 million albums and her wholesome image captivated fans on both sides of the Atlantic.
But her life was nearly destroyed in 1974 when she was raped and beaten at knifepoint in a New York motel room following a show.
Francis was awarded record damages and her case won landmark safety reforms for women travellers.
But the singer retreated from showbusiness and became a recluse, so traumatised by her ordeal that she attempted suicide.
She eventually fought back from depression and made a comeback in the 1990s with a string of sell-out shows in Las Vegas.
The 64-year-old singer had long wanted to make a film of her life and approached Estefan after friends pointed out Estefan's striking resemblance to her on the cover of her 1993 album Mi Tierra.
Danny De Vito is being lined up to play Connie's Italian-American father, George, and Olympia Dukakis has been tipped for the role of her mother, Ida.
